NOTICE

I have made the decision that as of May 2011, this website will be taken offline.

It began as a gift for my father Darryl, who grew up in Temagami. Darryl would often check this website to see what new photos people had uploaded, and enjoyed having a website where people could look at photos of Temagami. Sometimes I would travel to Temagami to obtain new images to add to the site.

There seemed to be quite a bit of interest in historial Temagami images a few years back. Jack Humphrey had an incredible website of historical and current Temagami photos that was always kept up to date. You might say that as far as I was concerned, there was an unspoken rivalry :)

Jack's website went offline inexplicably one day, never to return. I was told that he had passed away in a tragic event.

Once Jack's page went down, this website was the only one of it's kind around - but user interest was already beginning to decline. I wondered if it was partially due to the seniors that my father grew up with, passing away or not using the internet.

One thing is certain, this site receives very few visitors any longer and almost no user uploaded photos. Part of me would like to keep this site online in his name, which I've done since July of 2009 when Darryl passed away. Part of me also thinks that perhaps it is time to simply let it go.

If you would like to have a copy of all 1200+ photos currently archived, let me know. I may also see if another site would be interested in keeping an archive of this site.
